New Church Development in Egypt Update April 2025

At The Outreach Foundation, we are continually inspired by the vibrant and courageous ministry of our partner, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Egypt. We are deeply grateful for your support and prayers, which empower this church to fulfill its mission. Today, we are happy to share a glimpse of how God is moving through our partners in Egypt.

Church Planting

A vision is unfolding in Egypt—a vision to plant new churches and extend the reach of the Gospel into new communities. Last October, a three-day conference in Ismailia marked a significant step in this journey. Church leaders and laypeople alike were equipped to see beyond church walls, recognize community needs, and step forward in faith to serve.

Media for the Gospel

In a rapidly evolving world, the Evangelical Egyptian Church understands that the digital space is a crucial frontier for sharing the Gospel. In December, a media training conference in Itsa gathered young believers from the Sohag and Assiut presbyteries, equipping them with the skills to engage their generation through social media and digital storytelling.

New Generation of Leaders

This past February, 30 graduates from the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo took a bold step into their calling as they were sent out to serve in presbyteries across the nation. With hearts ignited by the Word of God and a deep love for His people, these new pastors stand ready to shepherd, disciple, and nurture congregations throughout Egypt.

Being the Hands and Feet of Christ

Serving Those in Desperate Need,

Sudanese Refugees: In the wake of violence and displacement, 15 churches have dedicated themselves to being a refuge for Sudanese families seeking safety and hope. This past Christmas, the love of Christ was made tangible as Pastor Manassa Nessim distributed 200 blankets and food supply boxes to refugee families.

Palestinian Refugees: As Ramadan approached in mid-March, the church extended the love of Christ beyond religious and cultural divides, distributing essential food supplies to 150 Palestinian refugee families. Additionally, 350 Palestinian children received new clothes and gifts—small gestures that carried a profound message: the love of Jesus knows no boundaries, and His compassion reaches all who are in need.

Invitation to Pray and Support

Even as we celebrate these powerful testimonies, we are mindful that much work remains. We invite you to join us in support and prayer for our partners in Egypt.

  • The new church plant in El Qussir, that it may take root and flourish as a beacon of hope in the community.

  • The revitalization of Bassioun Church, which has stood closed for three decades. May worship once again rise from its sanctuary, filling it with renewed life.

  • The missionaries serving in Iraq, who labor in challenging and often dangerous conditions. May they be strengthened in their mission.

God is on the move in Egypt, and we are humbled to witness His hand at work. Thank you for being part of this story—your prayers, encouragement, and generosity fuel this mission.
