Novus Foundation in Poland Update November 2024
Novus Foundation leaders Aneta and Pablo Montano recently returned from a fruitful trip to the United States. With help from The Outreach Foundation, they visited California, Arizona, Alabama, North Carolina, and Texas. The unique hospitality, kindness, and fellowship of the American people brought back to Aneta and Pablo’s memory the wonderful years lived in the U.S. since they met as university students in this beautiful country.
We Let God Lead
This memorable trip allowed NOVUS Foundation to share with The Outreach Foundation’s church partners and donors its new holistic mission which includes a new university degree, a BA in Theology with the interdenominational program in English, Theology and Counseling Studies, or TC studies (formerly TACS, for simplicity now called TC studies).
This was indeed a God-guided journey. We could share the TC studies project in different churches, church groups, friends, and friends of friends. All these meetings had one thing in common, planning to work together to expand the Kingdom of God around the world!
The TC studies project has been very well received because it is a synergy that, with God at the center, will prepare and equip Christians with a sound education in theology, missionary training, church planting, and Christian counseling. With TC studies, we will prepare Christians to become servant leaders with a counselor’s heart.
We Pray, We Listen, We Obey
After spending time in prayer, it is now clear to us that we must start this program with Ukrainian students only.
Currently, there are over 3 million Ukrainian citizens living in Poland (including about 1.5 million from before the war). By the end of July 2024, according to the UN’s Regional Information Center for Western Europe, there are over 6 million Ukrainian refugees spread across Europe; in addition, 3.7 million people are internally displaced within Ukraine’s borders. About 60% of Ukrainian refugees wish to return home at the end of the war.
We see the urgency of preparing Ukrainians, especially women, with solid biblical Protestant knowledge and equipping them with the skills to be Christian counselors. These women will soon be called to rebuild their country and will be in the unequivocal position to care for the mental health of their families and their communities.
“God is showing us that the Theology and Counseling studies will give students the knowledge and skills to start a small Christian counseling group. Each small group will receive professional counseling and have a time of prayer and Bible study. Each small group has the potential to grow into a church. Students will be prepared to do just that,” Pablo explains.
Praying For Scholarships
We pray that God will provide 20 full scholarships for 20 Ukrainian women who can be in our TC studies 3-year program. Our TC studies program will be conducted in-person and/or online to accommodate potential candidates.
