New Church Development in Brazil Update April 2025
Dear friends and partners in the Gospel,
It’s with hearts full of gratitude that we share what God is doing through your prayers and support in Varginha, Florianópolis, and Curitiba, Brazil. These aren’t just cities on a map—they are fields where the seeds of faith are taking root, growing into thriving communities of Christ-followers. Here are just a few glimpses of the Kingdom work unfolding:
A Year of Growth in Varginha
Last Sunday, we gathered in Varginha to celebrate something miraculous: our one-year anniversary as a church family. What began as a vision is now a living, breathing community of 68 people—27 adult members, 11 youth, and 30 regular visitors. This year alone, 11 new members joined us, including seven baptisms, each a powerful testimony of transformed lives.
We're also laying the groundwork for future growth. Monthly leadership trainings have begun, equipping faithful men and women to shepherd the next generation. The excitement is contagious—God is building something beautiful here.
Victory in Campeche, Florianópolis
In the southern region of Florianópolis, our church plant in Campeche continues to shine as a beacon of hope. At the close of 2024, we gathered in a shared public space for an unforgettable celebration: a baptism service, profession of faith, and the welcoming of new members. Four people were baptized in a powerful witness to God’s redeeming grace.
One story especially touched our hearts: our 7-year-old daughter, Nicole, is becoming quite the missionary. She’s already invited four school friends to church—opening the door not just for the children, but for their families, too. One family, previously distant from faith, shared that the best gift they received this year was the friendship of believers who introduced them to Jesus. In moments like these, we are reminded: God is using even the smallest voices to do big things.
A Steady Foundation in Curitiba
In the heart of Santa Felicidade, Curitiba, our third church plant is taking shape with steady purpose. Growth here isn’t flashy, but it’s deep and intentional. We are building strong spiritual foundations, shaping a community rooted in Christ’s love and vision.
Our hospitality team is being trained to create a warm, welcoming space. Children’s ministry leaders are being equipped to serve visiting families with excellence, and we've just secured a dedicated room for children’s ministry, separating it from the karate project we host during the week.
Small groups are also being strengthened, not just as a structure, but as lifelines of connection and discipleship. With 40 active members and weekly attendance of 35, this young church is becoming a home for immigrant families—a place where they are embraced, encouraged, and known.
From baptisms in borrowed spaces to the prayers of a child leading families toward Christ, your partnership is making an eternal difference. Church planting is never easy. It’s filled with challenges, unknowns, and moments where faith alone carries us forward. But through it all, God has been faithful.
