News from Madagascar-FJKM Ministries and A Conversation with the Turks

Dan and Elizabeth Turk, mission co-workers who serve with partner church Fiangonan’i Jesoa Kristy eto Madagasikara (FJKM) in Madagascar, recently shared the following prayer requests:

We would like to share some prayer requests for our partner church, the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar (FJKM). FJKM is in the midst of its Synoda Lehibe (equivalent of General Assembly). It will conclude August 18th. Attendees have traveled from all over Madagascar to participate. This meeting is usually held every 4 years but was postponed for a year due to COVID-19. FJKM will begin electing its 100-member National Council on Monday and will conclude with the election of its officers on Wednesday. FJKM will also set its priorities for the next 4 years.

Please pray for the FJKM’s Synoda Lehibe – for safety in travel, protection from COVID-19, God's guidance in decision-making, and as it moves forward after the Synoda Lehibe.

A Conversation with the Turks August 19, 2021, 7:00-9:00 pm EDT

Join us as we spend some time with mission co-workers Dan and Elizabeth Turk before they return to Madagascar. Dan and Elizabeth have been serving with the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar (FJKM) for over 20 years, working in the domains of public health and agricultural development.

What to Expect:

We’ll share news of the FJKM Church, and hear briefly from Pastor Mamisoa Rakotomalala about her doctoral studies at Columbia Theological Seminary.

We’ll learn from Dan about new developments at the Mango Palace, the latest fruit trainings for farmers, progress in setting up new tree nurseries in different parts of the country, and use of planted native trees to promote conservation of Madagascar’s unique biodiversity.

Elizabeth will share about COVID-19 in Madagascar and how the FJKM’s health and AIDS ministries are reaching out during this time.

There will be ample time for questions and prayer.

Registration is needed so we can provide you with the zoom link and more specific information about the event. There is no charge.
