About Our main Partner

The National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon

Many families of The National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon now require assistance for life’s basic needs after collapsed economies, political instability, and the pandemic. Syria has the added burden of post-war recovery, and Lebanon continues to rebuild after the August 4, 2020 port explosion. The Synod supports 40 congregations and their ministries, and while much of its focus is on developing educational institutions in Syria and Lebanon, there is a growing need to support ministries that bring relief and hope and also allow the Synod to assist some of the congregations whose families are struggling.

The Impact

Recent gifts through Outreach have provided “gardening-baskets” (seeds and plants) to assist Presbyterian families in growing vegetables in the middle of an economic crisis (Lebanon), helped to renovate the hall used for children’s ministry in Hasakeh (Syria), rebuilt homes destroyed by terrorists in southern Syria, funded three mini-retreats for women in Syria, and provided salaries for the staff of a school for severely autistic children in Beirut.

The opportunity

The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts to support the mission and ministry of the Syria/Lebanon Partnership. All gifts of any size are welcomed to support our Presbyterian family of faith in Syria and Lebanon during this difficult time. A small portion of this fund will assist related ministries in the region which care for refugees and other vulnerable segments of society.
