About Our Partner
The National Presbyterian Church of Mexico (INPM) has 6,000 churches and almost three million members. They are focused on church planting in the central and northern states of Mexico where there is a scarcity of evangelical churches in order to reach the next generation. One of the major challenges they face is how to best minister to the growing refugee population that exists along its northern and southern borders. One pastor who ministers in the southern state of Chiapas near the Guatemalan border now has in his household, in addition to his family, four children from his congregation whose parents are ill, and refugees from Nicaragua, Cuba, and Haiti – 16 people who gather around his table to eat. This pastor and his congregation want to extend this work by building a church that would include a kitchen and dining room to serve food and offer a place of rest for immigrants. The INPM also has a vision for using online tools to develop and distribute training curricula to assist pastoral staff in training lay leaders, Elders, and Deacons. Plans are in the works to convert an existing room in their offices in Mexico City into a multi-media studio.
