ABOUT THE OUTREACH FOUNDATION
Since 1979, The Outreach Foundation has connected congregations and people in the U.S. with church partners around the world in Christ-centered evangelistic mission. Today, we focus on Presbyterian partners in places in the world where the church is growing or where it is facing opposition.
Through our mission relationships we help our partners train leaders, start new congregations, expand their outreach programs, and strengthen their ministries of compassion. We also support missionaries who are involved in this work. We seek to encourage and shape partnerships that enable partners to share gifts with each other as the Body of Christ is built up for God’s mission in the world.
The Outreach Foundation took shape out of the vision of leaders in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.) who longed to see their church reclaim evangelism and mission as priorities. Since our founding by that visionary group, we have disbursed more than $114 million in support of Christ-centered evangelistic mission. Today, we work with congregations in several U.S. Presbyterian denominations, 25 missionaries or missionary couples and more than 50 global partners in 35 countries. Our work depends upon the involvement and financial support of individuals, congregations and organizations. The Outreach Foundation is independently governed by a Board of Trustees, all of whom are pastors or officers in their respective churches.
In the face of seismic shifts in the Presbyterian family and the Western church, a chaotic and rapidly changing world, and a vital, growing global church, we believe that God has more for us to do. We believe that God continues to call us to connect Presbyterian and other reformed churches worldwide for collaboration in God’s mission.
