WOMEN'S MINISTRIES IN SOUTHERN AFRICA
AFRICA
In the African culture, women often work harder than men. Some African Christian women are pastor’s wives. Others are elders and ministers. They are expected to attend every function at the church and be available for grief counseling. They feed people who come to their door, house traveling visitors, care for their own family, meet the needs of their husbands, and are the community’s spiritual leaders.
During recent Outreach Foundation trips to Southern Africa, women expressed a deep need for fellowship and support from each other as they seek to meet the expectations mentioned above.
These women, who are the cornerstones of the African Church, also seek training to face the many challenges in their lives. Short courses are available on HIV/AIDS prevention and various Christian ministries. There are conferences and retreats, but many women are unable to attend due to lack of finances.
Small income-generating projects would enable them to be self-reliant, take care of their families and help the community at large. This project can be a big step in church growth and poverty reduction. Please come alongside the African Christian women in their effort to impact their communities with the Gospel of Jesus.
Minimum goal: $20,000 - Training, conference, retreats and small projects
