CITY EVANGELIZATION - KANOMBE COMMUNITY
RWANDA
Presbyterians have been serving God in Rwanda for over 100 years now. During the 1994 genocide, the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda suffered many losses, including many Church leaders. After the genocide, the church reached across ethnic barriers to bring healing to many communities around the capital city, Kigali, and other cities in Rwanda.
The Kanombe community was deeply affected by the genocide. It is a heart-broken community in need of healing that only Jesus Christ can provide. Presbyterians reached out to the community, and in response many have now turned their hearts to the Lord. The church started worship services and other Christian activities in a building that used to be a nightclub. The congregation is growing rapidly and has outgrown the facility.
Contributions from members allowed them to expand the church property. The church is now seeking funds to build a facility that will offer an ample space for worship and other activities such as children’s Sunday school classes, adult literacy, counseling, a daycare and a nursery school. Disease prevention is also in focus as the church helps to supply clean water through the construction of cisterns. Your gifts will make a difference and will encourage brothers and sisters in Christ who are ministering in Rwanda.
Minimum goal: $50,000 - Construction of a community development center
