BLANTYRE SYNOD CHURCH ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION
MALAWI

Church construction and evangelism go hand-in-hand. There is enormous building activity going on in Blantyre Synod, located in southern Malawi. In many places, members are outgrowing old facilities. There are 90 churches currently in line for roofing material in Blantyre Synod.  During the past several years, The Outreach Foundation has worked with Blantyre Synod to put on roofs and repair more than 120 church buildings, a manse, and several presbytery offices.

These congregations continue giving sacrificially to complete their buildings and make them fit for ministry and mission.  They are eagerly molding or buying bricks. Funds contributed toward this project will enable congregations in Blantyre Synod to install roofs, purchase doors and windows, and finish floors for several buildings. Gifts small and large are a practical help and encouragement to our partners in Malawi. 

Blantyre Synod, a long-term partner of the Presbyterian Church (USA), is the leading religious body in southern Malawi, claiming about 1.4 million members. The church does not want to lose ground either to Muslims or Pentecostals, both of whom are building aggressively. There are also opportunities for PC(USA) congregations to establish new church-to-church relationships through participation in this project.
